Bonding inside - STV technology
GEALAN-STV is a new technique of bonding glass panes to the casement used in window manufacturing. The core and the basis of the technology is a high quality tape developed especially for window applications, which is applied using 6-metre long profiled strips during the extrusion process.
At present, it can be used only on white profiles, but there are works going on to enable the application of the technology on acrylic coated profiles.
Benefits
- Increased thermal insulation
When the STV® technique is used to construct standard dimensioned elements, steel reinforcement is not necessary. As a result, the Uf ratio is increased by up to 0.2 W/m2K depending on the profile combination used. - Increased stability
Integration of the STV® technology with traditional steel reinforcement allows for production of elements of previously unattainable dimensions and delivers tangible performance benefits. Special structures can also be equipped with more stable elements. - Better anti-burglary protection
Bonding of the glass panes to the casement rebate over the entire surface results in an increased anti-burglary protection. In addition, the elements are difficult to lever. - A possibility to cut costs
Since GEALAN-STV® windows do not require steel reinforcement, the technology allows for reduction of costs. Time-consuming tasks related to the need to reglaze the panes in the place of installation have been minimized, too. Besides, a lighter weight of the window having no steel reinforcement considerably facilitates the assembly. - A proven system
Moreover, all STV® components have been tested in accordance with the binding RAL provisions for bonded structures.
